Mangrove Jack doesn't appreciate being called a
"bush pilot" because, as he's quick to point out, he only ends up in
the bushes on about 25% of his landings. He's been known to boast to
anyone who will listen that "any landing you can swim away from is a
good one." His legendary float plane, the Paradise Voyager, has been in
more scrapes than an antique power sander and is more battered than a
deep-fried coconut shrimp. In spite of all that, Jack says, "that old
engine still roars like a lovesick sea lion." Until somebody recently
published a map on the Internet showing everybody how to get to KeyLime Cove, Mangrove Jack's float plane service was the only reliable
way to find the Cove, though calling any Mangrove Jack flight
"reliable" may be a bit of a stretch. These days, Mangrove Jack's
twice-daily flights bring the freshest and finest ingredients from
around the world directly to Capt. Dave’s kitchen. Jack also runs his
own beachfront shop, keeping it and all the other KeyLime Cove shops
well-stocked with all the essentials for a great stay in paradise –
like tiny little drink umbrellas, fun t-shirts and caps and
brightly-colored flowered tops and dresses!
